With winter gone and spring becoming summer, it’s that time of the year again when a lot of your life will revolve around beaches, swimsuits and beach body.  This is all well and good, but let’s face it ladies for many of us the oncoming of summer means a lot of dread for us.  We then have to work out how we can get back down to a trimmer size in the couple of months we have left before summer.  It can be a nightmare for a lot of us and a very stressful time indeed.

If you feel in any way shape or form like that, then know that you are not alone.  And to show solidarity and help you we have put together a selection of tips to help make things healthier in your life and lose weight in a sensible way.

Set Realistic Goals

You will come across a lot of blog posts that suggest setting goals for losing weight and getting healthy beach body.  It’s a good way to add some structure to what you are doing.  Having goals, goals that you are determined to stick to and work hard towards, can help you to stay focused.

However, there is always a danger when setting goals that you are too hard on yourself and set unreachable goals.  If you are really struggling to find the balance, you could take your main goal and break it into smaller goals spaced out at different milestone dates on the path to completion of your main goal.

Eat Healthily

Nowadays, there seems to be thousands of different ranges of ready meals that are so called diet-friendly or healthy choices and snacks that are reduced fat (but increased sugar).  The problem with a lot of these things is that they are heavily processed and while they might not have as many calories, but are still no good for your beach body.

It is much better to change your diet, and you don’t even have to change portions particularly just be more mindful of how many calories you have in a day.  You need to work on eating the right stuff.  A lot of it is very much common sense – eat more fresh, raw fruit and veg, eat leaner protein like turkey and eat lots of whole grains and nuts.  These are the kinds of changes you should be making and you should avoid any faddish, crash diets.

Exercise Regularly

You can’t have one without the other and as important as eating a healthy and balanced diet daily is, it alone won’t help you get in shape.  You need to actively take part in exercise regularly.  There are many option open to you and what is good for you, won’t be good for someone else.

For instance, you may find it easier to attend a gym, while others may benefit from exercising in the comfort of their own home using the best pull up bar and or the best exercise bike they can afford.  The key thing is to actually do something.  Figure out what will work best for you and what you will enjoy and stick at it.
