The culture of socialising after a day on the slopes originated in the French Alps, so if it’s the after-party that really draws you into the mountains, you’ll know that this is the place to be to experience some of the best après-ski. We’ve selected a few of the top ski resorts for after-hours entertainment, each of which is most conveniently accessible by luxury helicopter transfer – a perfect way to maximise the enjoyment of your après-ski with a touch of sophistication.

Val d’Isère

Val d’Isère is well known for its vivacious nightlife. It boasts a great number of bars and restaurants with stunning views over the mountains. La Folie Douce is located on the slopes and is a magnet for skiers due to its atmospheric setting and sense of character, which comes complete with live music and dancing, as well as a large terrace area, which is open daily until the lifts close.

And, of course, we couldn’t mention this particular resort without giving a nod to Dick’s Tea Bar – a world famous nightclub that sports a huge bar area and a regular schedule of some of the best DJ’s and live music the town offers.

Val Thorens

This French town is an après-skier’s playground: home to a feast of clubs, bars and restaurants. Whether live music, themed nights or big name DJs are your thing, Val Thorens doesn’t disappoint, which is probably why it has won a number of awards at the World Ski Awards in recent years. We strongly recommend Saloon bar, which has a well-earned reputation for a colourful night out. This resort is known to be particularly popular with groups.

Affectionately nicknamed “Cham,” this resort is one of the most vibrant and popular that the Alps has to offer. It is packed with restaurants and bars serving fantastic food and drink to discerning après-skiers, whatever their individual tastes. Head to Monkey Bar for a lively atmosphere and fantastic food; what could be better after a long day on the snow?

There’s no question that Meribel is one of the livelier French ski resorts when it comes to après-ski. Visitors are spoilt for choice by the quirky bars and restaurants around the town (which are a favourite for Brits). It’s the number one choice for live music fans, who will certainly want to pay a visit to The Rond Point, which is located on the slopes and regularly plays host to some fantastic bands.

After a lively après ski session at one of these exclusive resorts, you’ll certainly appreciate a scenic helicopter transfer home. Alternatively, charter a private helicopter transfer to head to the next party!
